Ahead of the first annual Heritage Careers Week (28 October - 1 November), we’re looking to highlight career paths of people who volunteered with heritage organisations and then went on to work within the heritage sector.

6 months on from the launch of our Inclusive Volunteering Toolkit, we’re taking stock of our progress so far, as well as opportunities for further refinement.

Have you made progress in diversifying your volunteer base? Or do you have expertise in equality, diversity and inclusion that you’d like to share? We’re looking for inclusive volunteering case studies.

Have your volunteers been hard at work tour guiding, accessioning collections, serving on your board or undertaking other tasks? We’d love to feature them on our website and social media!

Are you looking to involve a more diverse range of people in your volunteer programme? Make Your Mark can support 5 member organisations to co-design a volunteer taster session with a marginalised or underrepresented group in their area.

We’re inviting voluntary organisations in Scotland to submit a digital poster highlighting their inclusive volunteering programmes.

Bruce Davenport, Lecturer at Newcastle University, is running a small research project looking at volunteer behaviours post-lockdown and needs the help of volunteer managers.

Make Your Mark has published an Inclusive Volunteering Toolkit as part of Scotland’s Volunteering Action Plan.
